Private Voice Lessons


  • This is a judgement free zone, we will give you the tools to overcome stage fright and teach you how to be more comfortable with singing in front of others.

  • Each lesson follows a holistic, mind-body approach. We begin with warm-ups that include elements of yoga, mindful breathing, and techniques to stay present, helping you connect with your body and voice. Next, we focus on vocal exercises to build technique, control, and range. We also teach basic music theory so you can understand how to use your voice effectively and make informed musical choices. Finally, we work on songs you love, applying your skills in a natural and expressive way. The goal is not just to improve your singing, but to cultivate confidence, awareness, musical understanding, and enjoyment in your voice

  • We offer 45 minutes and 60 minute lessons which helps each student get the most out of their lesson. Students have the option to opt in for bi-weekly lesson, or weekly.

  • Yes! Many adults who believe they are “tone deaf” can absolutely learn to sing with proper guidance and practice. Being truly tone deaf is actually a very rare medical condition called amusia. Most people who think they’re tone deaf simply need structured practice to improve pitch recognition and vocal control.

    My approach is holistic and beginner-friendly, combining:

    • Mind-body connection and mindful breathing

    • Step-by-step vocal exercises to develop pitch, tone, and control

    • Science-backed techniques for healthy, flexible singing

    • Songs you love to make practice fun and engaging

    With consistent practice and personalized coaching, you can improve your pitch, develop your ear, and sing with confidence, regardless of where you start. Singing is a skill that can be trained at any age.

  • We offer training in a wide range of styles, including pop, rock, jazz, musical theatre, R&B, and contemporary commercial music. Your lessons are tailored to your voice type, goals, and musical interests.

  • No, not at all! We teach everyone from complete beginners to advanced vocalists. Our instructors meet you where you are and help you develop at your own pace.

  • No, there are so many benefits to learning how to sing at all ages! Adults are encouraged to join our programs to reap the long-term health benefits of singing, including improved breathing, posture, mood, and cognitive function. In fact, adult learners often progress quickly because they’re motivated and focused.

  • All of our lessons are taught online over zoom. After you register, you’ll receive your own link to a private zoom room for your lessons with instructions on how to set-up your zoom for optimal audio for lessons.

  • We ask for 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a lesson. Missed lessons without notice may be charged in full. We do not offer make-up lessons unless adequate notice is given.

Music Production and Songwriting for Singers

  • Yes! This is part of the private lesson curriculum. I help students learn how to record their own vocals and songs, including:

    • Setting up a home recording environment

    • Microphone technique and recording basics

    • Editing and mixing vocals

    • Using software (DAWs) to produce professional-sounding tracks

    I also offer these services separately for an additional fee if you aren’t a private student.

  • Yes! Private lesson students get coaching, songwriting guidance, and professional mixing of one song per quarter as part of their lessons at no extra cost. Note: this is for students that taken 1 hour lessons under the Awakened Voice Membership.

  • Yes! singers are encouraged to submit a song each quarter for mixing and mastering, giving you the opportunity to showcase your progress and share your work professionally. All students have the opportunity for performance opportunities and submission to audition with NATS.

  • Non-students can access remote coaching and have their track mixed professionally as an add-on.

    Remote Song Coaching + Mix – Basic Guidance on home vocal recording, mixing, and mastering. Includes me mixing your submitted track.

    • $300 per song

    Remote Song Coaching + Mix – Advanced Full songwriting support (lyrics, melody, chords), home recording guidance, mixing, mastering, optional instrument layering. Includes Michele mixing your submitted track professionally.

    • $450 per song

    Quarterly Song Feedback & Showcase (Remote)Submit a song for detailed feedback on mix, vocal tone, and arrangement. We will also post your song onto our youtube channel if desired to share with the community.

    • Sessions are conducted via video call or email/video feedback.

    • You’ll record at home using your equipment or a simple setup I guide you through.

    • Michele will mix your submitted track and provide professional tips and feedback.

Registration and How to Get Started


  • Click on the “Get Started” button or go here:

  • Sign up on the course page with name & email. Preview is free; full course can be purchased online.

  • Book via website or email, submit your song files remotely, and schedule coaching sessions as needed.


Payments

    • All private lessons/memberships are charged as 1x per month subscription each month.

    • Courses are a one-time flat fee for purchase. (non-students)

    • Add-ons packages are available as a flat fee per project.

  • Puget Sound Music accepts all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover) as well as ACH bank transfers.

  • Yes, you can update your payment method for your private lesson subscription anytime through your student portal or by contacting our billing team at info@pugetsoundmusic.org.

  • Absolutely! Receipts are emailed automatically after each payment, and detailed invoices are available upon request.

    • Lessons canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice can be rescheduled. Missed or same-day cancellations are non-refundable.

    • Mini-courses, are one-time non-refundable purchase.

    • Music Production and songwriting adds-on can be refunded prior to start date.

  • Yes — subscriptions can be paused or canceled with at least 7 days’ notice before your next billing cycle.

  • No late fees are charged, but lessons may be paused if payment is not received within 7 days of the billing date.

  • If a payment fails, you’ll receive an automatic reminder. Lessons may be paused until the balance is resolved.


Commitment For Results

  • A minimum of 15-20 minutes per day of vocal exercises to see improvement with a commitment to practicing songs 30 minutes or more is recommended to maximize your results.

  • No, it is not required. It is your choice if you would like to perform. Michele Blanchflower is a NATS member and offers all of her students the opportunity to perform and compete in regional competitions.

  • While we can’t guarantee identical results for every student, consistent progress is very likely with regular attendance, practice, and engagement. Our instructors are trained to meet you where you are — whether you’re a beginner or experienced singer — and guide you step-by-step toward measurable improvement in your tone, range, confidence, and technique.

    Ultimately, your growth depends on both the quality of instruction and your commitment to practicing what you learn between lessons.
